Since completing the Ngā Manukura ō Āpōpō training in 2012 my midwifery career has flourished. I have become a member of the Northland DHB Maternity Guidelines Commitee; the Chairperson for the Northland Branch of the New Zealand College of Midwives (NZCOM), which has since resulted in my involevement in the National Committee for NZCOM, and the Northland DHB Clinical Governance Committee.
During the leadership training, we were tasked with a project. Ngā Pito Hono was the name of the project which I developed collaboratively with a colleague and we presented the proposal at a Tapuhi hui in Waitangi which resulted in funding being approved to access resources that are being used for the current Maori Kaupapa Education Programme in Te Taitokerau.
Nicole is also a member of the Ngā Manukura Leadership Team.
