Ngā Manukura o Āpōpō offers marae-based kaupapa Māori leadership development programme to aspiring and established Maori clinical leaders in nursing and midwifery. This foundation training consists of four 2-day noho marae over a 4-month period. Sessions are designed to stimulate learning, discussion, debate and action and include:
Leadership and governance including Māori models of leadership and goverance cultural competency / confidence
Clinical governance and quality improvement;
Leading a change management/quality improvement project to completion;
Leadership tools including managing conflict, building teams, coaching and communication.
Planning - career and whānau
All cohorts will be held in Waikato at Tūrangawaewae Marae, Ngaruawahia. All wānanga are held on a Thursday and Friday, except for Wānanga 2 of Cohort 18 which will be held on a Monday and Tuesday.

Programme costs are covered. You / your organisation need to release you for the training days and contribute a small koha to the marae as part of the powhiri process.
